What is Reparaturbonus?
It’s an initiative launched by the Austrian Ministry of Climate Protection. The core idea is simple: repair electronics instead of replacing them. Not only does it save you money, but it is also much more environmentally friendly.
The campaign shoulders 50% of the eligible gross costs per voucher: up to 200 euros for repairs and a maximum of 30 euros for cost estimates are covered, leaving you to pay just the difference at your trusted repair shop.
If you are wondering if you can redeem the same voucher for the cost estimate and the repair, the answer is YES! However, the total amount still cannot exceed €200 for one device.
The official page on Austria’s Government website provides this situation as an example:
“If the customer decides to have the appliance repaired after receiving a cost estimate for which a grant of 30 euros has already been awarded, the maximum grant for the repair of the appliance is 170 euros. In total, therefore, the maximum grant is 200 euros for the estimate and repair of one and the same device.”
The funding is open to all private individuals. Even if you are not an Austrian citizen, you can still participate!
What can I fix with Reparaturbonus?
Whether it’s everyday household appliances like kitchen machines and kettles or personal tech like smartphones or computers, you can repair them with Reparaturbonus.
However, there are some conditions to note.
-
Only private individuals can claim the voucher
-
The device shouldn’t be under any guarantee, warranty, or replacement claims from third parties
-
It must belong to you
You would be surprised at how many devices are eligible! Of course, you can use it to repair mobile phones and laptops. But you can even get a bonus to fix your lawnmower, aquarium equipment, and drones! For more examples, check the official list of eligible devices.
Where can I use the voucher?
The repair voucher can only be redeemed at a partner business (HELFERLINE is one of them!). In Vienna, you can always drop by the HELFERLINE Service Shop in the 8th district to fix your device within 60 minutes or choose a provider with the Reparatur Netzwerk for other certified partners.

How to redeem the Repair Bonus voucher?
After the relaunch of the Reparaturbonus program on the 25th of September 2023, the procedure of getting the funds slightly changed. Now, the customer has to pay the full amount first and then will receive the 50% refund back to their bank account.
To redeem your bonus, present your voucher to the partner company and pay the invoice. You will then receive a confirmation email that allows you to keep track of your refund at the official website. As soon as your claim is processed, you will receive up to €200 to cover your estimate and repairs to the bank account you specified during the application process.
